The idea


It started as a project including a cobra snake protecting the tree - then during execution I decided to separate the tree from the cobra.

Execution

The apple is made of polished styrofoam painted like the 'Apple Computers' logo.

It represents both the apple of the lost paradise and that of modern technology.

 



 

A goose's egg is placed on the nest made of metal scraps. It is illuminated with a 20W bulb. A snake defends the egg.

The crystal flower on top of the green branch is an assembly of plastic. A small 10W bulb placed under the plastic in the center of the stem illuminates the crystal flower.

I used more than 30 meters of spiral electric cords, painted in different colours, to represent modern molecular biology climbing the tree of science and technology.
